Villa Nora stands at Ulica Petra Hektorovića 8, in the middle of Hvar's old town. The building is a 14th-century palace that once belonged to a noble family and was fully restored as a small hotel. Rooms are bigger than you would expect in a historic center, and the thick stone walls are part of the charm.
The location is the headline: St. Stephen's Square, the cathedral and the Bishop's Palace are 150 m away, the harbor and the bus station a two-minute walk, and the Fortica fortress about 700 m up the hill. Booking guests give the location 10.0 and the staff 10.0. One thing to know: the lane is hard to spot, so many guests say the staff met them at the harbor and walked them over.

Hvar is a long, narrow island in central Dalmatia, known for its sunshine, lavender and stone villages. Hvar Town, at the western end, is the main base; Stari Grad and Jelsa lie farther east. Distances are in a straight line from the hotel.

A harbor town from the Venetian era, with a stone-paved main square, a cathedral and a waterfront lined with cafés and boats. The center is largely pedestrian, and it's lively on summer evenings.

A hilltop fortress above the town, reached on foot by a stepped path from the center. From its walls you see the harbor, the red rooftops and the Pakleni Islands. Go early or late in the day: it's hot and exposed in summer.

A chain of small, pine-covered islets just off Hvar Town, with rocky coves and clear water for swimming. Taxi boats and tours leave from the harbor; Palmižana, on the island of Sveti Klement, has a bay with restaurants.

Inland, terraced hills and old stone villages such as Velo Grablje are known for lavender, which usually blooms in June and early July. Bike, e-bike and tuk-tuk tours climb up from town, with viewpoints along the way.

One of the oldest towns in Europe, founded by Greek settlers, with a long, sheltered harbor, narrow lanes and Tvrdalj, a fortified 16th-century house. It's also the island's main ferry port for Split.

A fertile plain divided by dry-stone walls laid out by the ancient Greeks and still farmed today with vineyards and olive groves. It's a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a good place to walk or cycle.

Hvar has no commercial airport; the nearest major one is Split's, in Kaštela (42 km in a straight line from the hotel). From the airport a bus or taxi takes you to Split's port, and from there a ferry or catamaran crosses to the island.
Split's port (37 km from the hotel) has ferries to Stari Grad, a crossing of about two hours, and catamarans to Hvar Town, about an hour, for foot passengers. Seasonal catamarans also link Hvar with other islands and with Dubrovnik. Timetables are fullest in summer and reduced in winter; check them and book vehicle space early in July and August.
Car ferries from Split land at Stari Grad (11 km from the hotel), roughly 30 minutes by road from Hvar Town. A second car ferry joins Drvenik on the mainland with Sućuraj at the island's eastern tip, a much longer drive from Hvar Town. In Hvar Town the center is pedestrian and parking is limited: the property mentions a parking place, so confirm it with the hotel before you arrive.
Croatia is part of the Schengen area and uses the euro. Entry requirements depend on your nationality and can change: check them with official sources before you travel. Cards are widely accepted and there are ATMs in the main towns.
Hvar Town is compact and easy to walk. Buses and taxis link it with Stari Grad and Jelsa, and taxi boats run to the Pakleni Islands. Bicycles, e-bikes, scooters and small cars can be rented to explore the island.
